Serpass is developing a new and highly potent class of virus-derived protein therapeutics, serpins that block excess coagulation and inflammatory responses. The lead compound is a PEGylated serpin protein, PEGSerp-1, with extensive prior testing in preclinical models, proving effective and safe at microgram / kilogram doses in models from lung damage and hemorrhage to vasculitis, transplant, spinal cord injury and wound healing. This is a new class of immune modulating protein biologics building on natural biologic evolution and development.
